CHURCHES:

BATTLE RUN (FLINT HILL) (1773)

Battle Run Church was served by Elder John Picket, then by Elder Lewis Conner who served until near his death, in June 1832. Elder Thomas Buck, Jr., succeeded him as pastor.

MOUNT PONEY (1774)

Mount Poney Church was constituted in 1774, by members dismissed from a church called Mountain Run, in Orange County, which had been organized in 1768. They were served by Elder Nathanial Saunders as a supply for a short time, until 1777. Elder John Leland then came among them, and united with the church, and served them for a short time. Mount Poney Church was a member of the Ketocton Association until 1803, when they joined the Culpeper. Gourdvine Church was constituted from this church, in 1791. They were served at that time by Elder William Mason.
