Chapel Church was organized in 1823. The church building itself was built in 1769 by the British; it was called the King's house because it was here that the British stored the tithes. It was purchased by the Primitive Baptists in 1825. The same year this church joined the Pig River Association. The church is located about ten miles west of Penhook.
