CHURCHES:PLGRIM'S REST
Pilgrim's Rest Church was organized on Sunday, April 17, 1955, in East Detroit, with twelve charter members, viz., Horace Childers, Hollis Davis, Frank Horner, Paul Johnston, Vera Arnett, Zula Horner, Lennie Johnston, Alma Bond, Mary Ruth Horner, Sallie Kerner, Rosie McCuiston, and Darlos Howell. The presbytery was composed of Elders A. D. Pitney, Nolan Pitney, E. L. Kinter, and Deacons Charles Patterson and Virtus Parker. The church met at first at the McKinley School, on Toepfer Avenue, in East Detroit.
