CHURCHES:

BETHLEHEM (PURCELL)

Bethlehem Church near Purcell united with the First Primitive Baptist Association of Oklahoma in 1914, and hosted the session of 1915. Pastors of this church have included Elder J. W. Herriage, A. D. West, Oba M. Cummings, Jerry E. Newman, and Mike Hughes.

WALNUT VALLEY (BLANCHARD)

Walnut Valley Church, located at 504 N. Harrison, in Blanchard, was organized on September 7, 1937, by members who had been granted an arm of Lone Pilgrim Church at Wellington, Texas, viz., N. F. Saylors and wife Lula Saylors, W. E. Saylors and wife Lela Saylors, J. H. Killmer and wife Berta Killmer, and A. F. Saylors and wife Addie Saylors. The presbytery was composed of Elders D. L. Hanley, Aubert Christian, C. L. Jarrett, J. F. Matthews, and C. H. Richards, and Deacons H. A. Patterson and R. B. Ritchie. After singing hymns of praise and an able discourse by Elder C. L. Jarrett, the presbytery organized by choosing Elder D. L. Hanley moderator and Elder A. Christian clerk. Walnut Valley Church is a member of the First Primitive Baptist Association of Oklahoma.
