The Avon & Oakland Church united with the Michigan Corresponding Meeting in 1843. Among the members were Elders R. H. Benedict, and an Elder Leet.

FLATROCK

PONTIAC (GOOD SHEPHERD)

Pontiac Church, at Farmington Hills, was organized on June 13, 1959, with eight charter members, viz., Elder Levi S. Saylor, Levi Saylor Jr., Lee E. Saylor, Lizzie Saylor, Florence Saylor, Geneva Saylor, Ethel Wilson, and Geneva M. Saylor. The presbytery was composed of Elders Alonzo Waggoner and Roscoe Wilson, and Deacons George Maddox and Hayse Maddox. The next day, the church received nine more members by letter and baptism.

The name of Pontiac Church was later changed to Good Shepherd Church. Elder Otis Buell is the present pastor, and Elder Tommy Edwards is also a minister in this church.
