BEAVER DAM FORK OF MUDDY CREEK

Beaver Dam Church was constituted on March 5, 1798, with five charter members, viz., John Atherton Sr., Sally Atherton, Aaron Atherton, Christina Atherton, and James Keel. The latter was a preacher, and served the church as pastor for a short time.

HOPEFUL

Hopeful Church was one of the churches which stood with the Regular Baptists in the division over the introduction of the modern mission system. This church united with the Otter Creek Association, which was organized in October 1839. It appears that this church was located at first in Breckinridge County, but later in Ohio County.
