UNION

Union Church, located about eight miles south of Mt. Airy, and four miles east of Dobson, was organized as an arm of Hogan's Creek Church. The Fisher's River Association in April 1888 authorized the constitution of this church. In May of that year, a presbytery composed of Elders A. M. Denny, C. Denny, Nathan Alberty, and J. D. Draughn, met with 45 members with letters of dismission from other churches, found them to be orthodox in faith, and constituted them into a church. The newly constituted church chose Elder M. G. Barbour as her first moderator. Union Church remained a member of the Fisher's River Association from her founding until the present, except the year 1934. That year a division occurred over the doctrine of absolute predestination, which still remains, with both sides using the meeting house and sharing the costs of utilities and maintenance.

LITTLE VINE

Little Vine Church is located near the Dobson exit of I-77 in Surry County. The church was constituted in 1899 with 32 members, and joined the Fisher's River Association in 1900.

STONEY CREEK

Stoney Creek Church was organized on April 17, 1909, by a presbytery composed of Elders A. M. Denny, Jesse A. Ashburn and F. P. Stone, Deacons, Steve Taylor, William Simmons, and C. L. Arrington. An arm had been extended from Tom's Creek Church and members were received from there and from Piney Grove, Stewart's Creek (Old Hollow), and Ararat (Cedar Hill) churches. There were nine charter members. Elder F. P. Stone was chosen the first pastor, and J. Lon Tilley as deacon. Elder Grey Fulk served as pastor with Elder Stone for eight years, and then from 1946 until his death in 1961. Elder Elbert L. Hunter was then called to pastor this church. The church is located about 5 miles southeast of Mt. Airy.

LOVE'S GROVE (1965)

Love's Grove Church was constituted in 1965, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, between Mt. Airy and Pilot Mountain.
