History of the Little Wabash Association

The Little Wabash Association was organized on October 23, 1825, at the Burnt Prairie Church in southern Wayne County, with seven churches, viz., Hopewell, Big Mount Prairie, Hargrave Prairie, Burnt Prairie, Republican, Long Prairie, and Bon-Pas. These churches were all dismissed from the Muddy River Association. For many years this association was in a condition of prosperity and advancement, and spread into a great portion of the southern part of the State; and other associations were formed by churches being dismissed from her bounds. This association observed her sesquicentennial session, in 1975.
