To the Sister Churches comprising the Yellow Creek Association of Missouri (Mt. Moriah, Milan, MO, and Chariton, Callao, MO.

Dear Brethren in Christ,

Because of the continuing inroads of Liberalism into the Yellow Creek Association; and because the pastors of Mt. Moriah and Chariton do encourage the Liberals to attend the Association: by inviting known Liberal ministers to attend and by using known Liberal ministers in the church they serve and by fellowshipping disorderly ministers that they know we will not invite to preach at Brush Creek; and because the pastors of Mt. Moriah and Chariton continue to insist and/or encourage that these disorderly men be used at the Association; and because we (the members of Brush Creek) feel dedicated to our blessed Lord to tenaciously hold to the plain and simple scriptural order (in doctrine and practice) that has identified the true Church of God since the time of the apostles; and because the elements of the denominational world have been brought into the Association by the Liberals, we feel that the time has come for us to take a decisive stand for the "old paths, where is the good way" (Jeremiah 6:16; 2 Corinthians 11: 3, 4).

We at Brush Creek (pastor and deacons) have voiced our opposition concerning these Liberal heresies that have been allowed to come into the Yellow Creek Association for the last three years (or more) but without any lasting success. Brethren these things (Liberal heresies) should not be permitted among us.

2 Thessalonians 3: 6, Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

2 Thessalonians 3: 14, And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

How sad: after 155 sessions of the Yellow Creek Association and after our forefathers stood firm in the early 1800s against the Missionary movement and the Progressive movement in the early 1900s to now in this early part of the 21st century witness the Association willingly embrace the very things that those precious Soldiers of the Cross fought against with much suffering, heartaches and tears.

At our Regular Church Conference September 25, 2004, a motion prevailed: that Brush Creek Church withdraw from the Yellow Creek Association because of the inroads of the heresy of Liberalism into the Association and because the pastors and sister churches of the Association have offered virtually no opposition against this heresy, but rather have encouraged the Liberals by using Liberal ministers in the church they serve and by fellowshipping Liberal ministers, churches, and associations.

Amos 3: 3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
