CHURCHES

BETHANY

Organized October 21, 1919, located on Hwy 346 W. Was called Bethena.

HOPEWELL

Elders Francis Baker and John Robins met a few Primitive Baptist members at a cabin near the home of William Hellums four miles south of Randolph, on November 11, 1837.

SMYRNA

Built in 1873, located about 1/4 mile south of Abe Hardin home on the Woodland-Pontocola Road leading to Troy and intersected at Roye store at Hwy 41 by the road which goes to Toxish. The church is gone but there is a cemetery.

UNION

MOUNT ZION

Mt. Zion Church was constituted in a schoolhouse in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, on April 17, 1910, with the following members, viz., Marion Herndon, Jemima Herndon, Joe Collins, John Brown, Eliza Brown, Carrol Gooch, Alice Gooch, Hilliard Gilmore, Harris Gilmore, and Dora Gilmore. Elders A. B. Morris and E. M. Verel formed the presbytery.
